Cambridge NY recorder and whistle player Caz Lewis wrote this tune in the summer of 2009, while camping in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. It was inspired by a firefly-intensive night, during which a barred owl could be heard hooting. The first part of the tune represents the fireflies, and the second the call of the owl.
