Written about 1974 as Tamlin and recorded in 1977 with The Fureys, this tune is also known as The Glasgow Reel, The Howling Wind, and every possible spelling and mis-hearing of the word Tamlin. Tam Lin is a character in a legendary ballad originating from the Scottish Borders, who is enchanted by the Queen of the Fairies and then rescued by his lover.
